Keurig or Tassimo? Our Verdict
When you’ve decided to take the plunge into single-serve coffee makers, the first hurdle you have to overcome is the decision of Keurig or Tassimo.
In this article I’ll talk about the 3 main factors to consider when trying to choose between these 2 brands. First we’ll talk about the style and design of both. Then we’ll briefly touch on the price differences and lastly I will talk about the coffee choices available.
Style and Design
There are many different styles and designs available for both the Keurig and Tassimo machines. Keurig does have more manufacturers however so you have more choice with them. Depending on your tastes and what style you prefer, this will determine which unit you go with.
We prefer the options provided by some of the Keurig manufacturers so this one goes to them.
Price
A factor that is very important to all of us, price is a clear factor when trying to compare Keurig to Tassimo. The Tassimo machines are generally more expensive but not necessarily better quality.
It is possible to spend a lot more on a Keurig machine like the models from Breville but these are easily some of the highest quality coffee machines we’ve ever seen.
Coffee Choices
The final category and arguably one of the most important is what kind of selection you have for coffee.
Again, Keurig wins this battle. At last count, the Keurig “K-Cup” offers over 200 different types of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. If there isn’t something to your taste in their selection, perhaps it’s time to have a cup of hot water instead!
At the end of the day, it really does come down to personal preference but here at CoffeeMakersInfo.ca, we’re huge fans of the Keurig machines and give them our highest recommendation.

So far this machine is the best I have had and I think Cuisinart makes a superior product every time. It is the quietest single-serve brewer I have ever used. You can make your own Kcups since Cuisinart has included one in the side of the machine at no extra cost.
